COVID-19 Changes

To help stop the spread of the COVID-19, Auspsychology will be transitioning to telehealth (video conference) only beginning 14 April 2020. However, telehealth facilities are available now, please just let the reception know that you would like to conduct the session online (instructions to connect will be provided thereafter).

This can be a difficult time as we all adjust to social distancing measures required to stop the spread of COVID-19. Here are some tips how to manage anxiety due to coronavirus and transitioning to working at home.

Stay safe!

How We Can Help

We offer a comfortable, therapeutic experience so you feel safe and secure when reaching out for help.

Anxiety

Anxiety and panic attacks can be very debilitating. There are a number of types of anxiety disorders and our trained psychologists can help in overcoming them.

Work Stress

Workplace situations can add to an individual’s personal stress levels. We can offer interventions and methodologies to assist in dealing with these stressors.

Relationships

Successful healthy relationships take work and can be difficult to succeed with. Our counsellors can offer guidance and assistance in helping you and your partner get there.

Depression

A very common problem which ranges from mild depression to clinical depression of which there are a number of types. Along with counselling – relaxation, positive thinking, diet and exercise can also help.

Self Esteem

Problems with how satisfied we are of ourselves can be changed. Individuals can do this but sometimes the help of a professional is needed, especially if low self worth is the result of other problems such as depression or anxiety.

Frequently Asked Questions

You phone our office to make an appointment. Sessions are available during working hours, some evenings and on some Saturdays. You attend one of our office at the appointed time and you will spend about fifty minutes talking to one of our trained psychologists.

Our counsellor will listen as you explain your reason for attending. They will then clarify your particular issue and offer insight into why the issue is occurring and how it might be resolved.

The psychologist may give you some exercises to try between sessions, they may also give or loan you some reading material or an explanatory video to watch.

We offer telephone sessions for those who can’t get in to one of our offices. Phone our receptionist to arrange a telephone session. We also offer online or smart phone video sessions using Skype or FaceTime. Again phone our receptionist to arrange one of these. Payment will be required at the time of booking.

Psychology services can be referred by your GP. Referrals must be accompanied by a Mental Health Plan (item 2710) in order for rebates to be paid through Medicare.
